Pre- Nola Reflections
Thinking about the time that we all will be spending in Nola makes me very excited. It is not often that we have the opportunity as freshmen to travel to one of the greatest cities in the nation to do service work. After watching the documentary When the Levees Broke, I became very interested and passionate about the impending work that was ahead of us. I think that it is very important that we help this community in their continuous effort to rebuild themselves nearly a decade after Hurricane Katrina. While on this trip, I challenge myself to make the most out of the time that I have while working with United Saints Parish, and to enjoy as many aspects of Nola culture that time will allow. I hope that my fellow Bonners will challenge themselves to so the same.
